MEDICAL CASE MANAGEMENT
Medical Case Management:
Including Workers' Compensation cases, Long Term Disability, Jones Act, Longshore, Auto, Liability cases, and Elder care. Case Management involves working closely under the direction of the claim adjuster including:
- Attending medical appointments with ill/injured person
- Arranging, managing, and facilitating medical care for injured person
- Holding conferences with physicians to discuss treatment plans and medical necessity issues.
- Obtaining bids for Durable Medical Equipment (DME), and purchasing equipment on behalf of the claim adjuster
- Arranging for referrals to other physicians
- Following up on physician recommendations and implementing authorized treatments
- Arranging transportation, when appropriate
- Evaluating home modification needs and arranging for modifications
- Providing consulting opinions and recommendations to claim adjuster
- Providing counseling to ill/injured claimant
- Medical Record Reviews for any type of claim
- Medical/Legal File Reviews
- Future medical cost projections, life care plans
- Coordinating return-to-work with supervisor, physician, and claimant to assure claimant's successful return-to-work
- Arranging, obtaining, and implementing Peer Reviews or Medical Record Reviews by appropriate physicians
- Job placement

- Assisting employer in developing modified jobs
